Ammos Hotel - outside Chania (Agii Apostoli)
OUR REVIEW Most thoroughly enjoyable small hotel with design flare. On a good beach and just a few minutes from the centre, and the Venetian harbour, of Chania. The hotel blends casual chic with beach relaxation, after a complete revamp of interiors and general areas of the hotel in 2006. Renewal continues with renewed main entrance and landscape areas in 2008.
Well kept and planted gardens define the areas around Ammos hotel. A cafe and restaurant serves very good food with well-prepared local dishes and any drinks and refreshments you might like. A decent sized swimming pool with lounge chairs and that delightful sea view (magical at sunset!), are there for your enjoyment.
A small library and cafe-bar are available for your entertainment. Parking space is provided for all guests.
This is a find, allowing you to enjoy Chania's intriguing and romantic
waterfront, shops, great restaurants and wonderful cafes, its
fantastic naval museum - yet stay at your own oasis by the beach to
relax. THE STUDIOS

I just wanted to thank you so much for helping us with our reservations and
especially to let you know what a wonderful hotel the Ammos was, the best
place I have stayed in Greece!! The staff were so kind and considerate, the
hotel itself so clean and smart and the rooms were a delight, as was the
pool and beach, and great restaurant.
Please let them know they had very satisfied customers and we will
absolutely return again another time.
My congratulations to all of you for one of the best holidays I have ever had. Best wishes, Marguerite Eisinger, Plattsburgh State Art Museum The stay in Crete was the best part of my trip. I only got my first computer in Sept., and Crete was my first experience of booking on line. I got just what I wanted - a small ocean front hotel with a beach and a pool. You did great on the room. I got a great ocean front, pool front room. After going out to dinner the first night, I realize I had the best setting and had room service dinners on my balcony, as the sun set. What a fabulous site. I did find the pool to cold to enjoy a swim. It would be nice if they could heat it in the spring. I would go back in a heart beat if it weren't so far from Oregon, and that 10 hour time difference is a real bear. You did an excellent job, Roger. Thank you for such a good experience. Judy Tower We had a wonderful holiday to Crete thanks to you and Nikos at the Ammos Hotel. From your point of view the arrangements you made were perfect (hotel and car hire) and the information you gave us both by email and via your website was extremely helpful - I am so pleased that I came upon your website if only by chance! The renovations at the Ammos were stunning and I couldn't almost believe I was in Greece (we have past experiences of sub-standard and very basic accommodation which seemed to be the 'norm' at the time). The food and service was exceptional - even though we tried other taverna's we inevitably returned to the Ammos for their very tasty dishes and personal touches. Thank you again for your care and attention. PS: It was refreshing to deal with someone who obviously knew the area well and gave honest information with his customers' feelings at heart as opposed to a disinterested high street agent or anonymous website only intent on selling their product. PPS: Have since re-read your information on the Ammos Hotel with updated photos etc and would concur with all you have written. Lydia Taylor The Ammos hotel was very good. The room was a good size and always kept clean. The poolside area was also well maintained. I could imagine in peak they would run out of sunbeds very quickly though. That would be my only improvement although we were not affected by this. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was also good as you were far enough out of town to be away from the crowds but could travel in very easily using the bus service. All in all I would highly recommend the hotel. The website pictures do not do it justice. It's better in real life!! Andy Read Ammos is just heaven. The hosts were among the kindest, most helpful people we met on our journey. They made us feel so welcome -- and even used a little influence to convince our taxi driver to charge less for the journey downtown. What a pleasure to stay there. Thanks again for a 100 percent great trip. Sheryl Macy The Ammos Hotel was great, Crete was a highlight of our trip, all the staff were the best, the restaurant was a 5-star, we didnt eat anywhere else, when we return to Crete that would be the only place we would stay. thanks again John Heagney We loved Crete and had a wonderful week at the Ammos. Copyright CreteTravel.com - protected Its a good base to explore the west side of the island. We cant fault the service at the hotel and found the atmosphere there very much to our liking. Everyone was extremely helpful, and the food was terrific. We liked the combination of having access to the restaurant and caf? and being able to make our breakfast of fruit and yoghurt etc. in our room.We also like the combination of pool and wonderful beach virtually one step away. The rooms are reasonable size and allow space for relaxing. The balconies could be a smidgen bigger but were not complaining! We certainly intend to return and we will visit Ammos again. Bernard Burgoyne Thanks for help with reservations for wonderful vacations in Crete....Both hotels are great, especially hotel Amos in CHania should be rscommended for everyone looking for high quality service..... One more time...thanks... Andrzej Midak Our holiday was just lovely. The Ammos was exactly what we hoped for - lovely beach and great position, we had fabulous weather - and the staff were simply wonderful. I don't think I have ever stayed in such a well-serviced hotel. They couldn't have been more welcoming or hospitable. One thought: we found the food the the hotel very variable, one day very good indeed, another quite ordinary. It obviously depended on who the chef was that day. Other than that we had a fantastic time and have every intention of returning. Susan Fox Hotel Ammos was perfect. CLean, pretty, modern and friendly. Great staff to get you whatever and give ideas.
