OUR REVIEW Atop this small and most pleasingly friendly, traditional village
sits a place with views, modern open sparkling decor, decks, view and
a large pool with ample sun-lounging terrace surrounding it.
In the Apokoronas area there are many villas - the area is near Chania
and in really attractive rolling hills, speckled with villages all
within a short drive or long walk of the sea and some good beaches to
boot. This is a place where you get to really feel the local pulse and
calm, the style and life of this island...yet you are in a truly
exceptional and stylish modern villa.
Original and unique amongst villas, the pueblo-ish sandy-ochre colored
stone-and-cement walls combined with airy, spacious modernity...make your villa a standout from the rest.
Wood, expansive, glass and loft-like glistening steel frames and banisters
provide a spacious reality and feel. Large and spacious.
The kitchen and dining are, refreshingly, spaces you want to use and
enjoy. They provide the clean lines and space, the views to enjoy both
while preparing food, and while enjoying dining (no
more being cordoned off in a dingy back room while you cook - everyone
can share and chat with you while you create dishes of pure genius!).
Miele equipment and every standard utensil and electrical service
device you might need is right here.
Bathrooms are hi-grade modern.
NEW: 3 more villas (four-bedroom) are now available at the Apokoron Villas estate. They are of similar style and standard to the original "Aphrodite" villa. Detailed descriptions and photos are coming soon. In the meantime, please ask us.

We had a great time, and I can't thank you enough for all of the help you gave us in finding the villa and arranging the car hire. The villa was very nice and by and large exceeded our expectations.
Our only complaints were:
1. The two larger bedrooms would benefit from increase air conditioning. The upstairs bedroom was uncomfortably warm most of the time, and that was very disappointing.

2. None of the bathtubs had a shower curtain, and that made it extremely difficult to bathe. I believe the villa owner is trying to create a wet room effect, but in reality he has just created a bit of a mess!
That said, the quality of the furnishings was excellent, and the overall villa experience was wonderful.
In terms of CreteTravel's services, I don't think there's anything you could have done better.
We really enjoyed the villa in Crete and would highly recommend it. The
problems were irritants and should be fixed, but they certainly weren't
a focal point for us. The owner has developed some great properties,
and I would recommend them to your guests. They just need to fix a few
teething problems.

The Crete vacation was fantastic. I will be
recommending your agency to anyone who asks.
The Villa and the
village of Gavalhori was idyllic. Great place to base ourselves for
touring around. The pool was a big hit and daily cleaner was very
nice and good. The airport car rental was very easy also and
directions were perfect. We enjoyed our visit and thank you for a
very good job. (One problem out of your control was that the town
had no water for a 1/2 day. It wasn't a big deal, but we never knew
when to expect it to come on which was never-racking.)
Thanks again,
Marilyn and Stuart Noorily
