Avli Luxury Suites - Rethymno (Rethimno)
OUR REVIEW Interesting, gorgeous and atmospheric place to stay in the heart of the old town of Rethymno. First opened in October 2005. History and beauty combines; these ancient walls, these cherished stones and these beautifully designed interiors. Plush, stylish, spacious and exquisite.
Each suite has a colour theme. This is tastefully
applied and all fittings, fixtures and furniture describe a grand
style. Some period feel and anchoring of time and place are achieved
with exposed stone, well-mated with hearty wood beams and floors.
Bathrooms are also a delight (some suites have the jacuzzi tub in the
bedroom - a romantic touch).
The rooftop of one building includes a tiled, open air jacuzzi tub for
up to 10 people and panoramic views across the old town, all Rethymno
and the fortress.
The inviting and elegant Avli restaurant is a dining
delight. A gourmet restaurant focused on the time-steeped dishes, local
produce and delicious traditions of Cretan cuisine but taking a
creative step
further, towards the best of Mediterranean fare. The restaurant is
large but intimate, divided into different look and feel areas, with
Venetian arches and interesting iron-glass artistic decor. Includes a
sophisticated wine bar, which
draws on a collection of well over 400 Greek wines (our favourites are
all available!). Wonderful opportunities for wine-tasting; you will
also have knowledgeable and helpful advice available from the experts
at Avli. Wonderful, intelligent, well-informed hospitality is

aspects of Rethymno and Crete. Rethymno, with its Venetian character and fortress,
fine restaurants, good shops, sandy beach at walking distance and
located just over an hour from both Chania and Heraklion is an ideal

ALL SUITES Air conditioning/heating (individually controlled),

safety deposit box, bathrobes & slippers. Marble or mosaic bathrooms with jacuzzi. Some of the
suites (Green, Red, Chocolat) have the jacuzzi open, in the bedroom.
Executive Suites (50 m2):
White, Blue. Junior suites are for just 2 people (one does take up to 3). Executive Suites are for 2 people (some will accommodate up to 4-5 people).

Bill Lewis We had the most wonderful time in Crete! It was both romantic and adventurous all at the same time. Rethymmo is the perfect place for those looking for a quiant, charming little town to walk through and enjoy the Greek lifestyle. Avli Suites is probably the best hotel we've ever been to. The staff was incredibly warm and hospitable. They truly made us feel like "guests", not just customers. The food was excellent at the hotel and the room was just as it was pictured on the website - and very clean! We shall always remember our visit. I would like to acknowledge the great customer care that i experience both with Crete Travel and Avli Suites. I expected a good honeymoon and i got a magical experience. I will definitely choose Crete Travel again! Danielle Camacho I can say that my stay at Avli Suites was excellent. I found them by trailing the internet looking for such accommodation in Rethymnon. The accommodation was perfect and the Brown [renamed "Chocolat"] suite definitely the best although having the Jacuzzi in the bedroom may not be everyones taste. Also the toilet is not very private with a glass door and open around the edges. The service in the restaurant was also excellent and the prices not outrageous. The Health shop was interesting although the staff not seemingly trained in their products especially the wines. I would have no hesitation in recommending Avli to anyone wanting some luxury, style and service in Crete. Michael Wilson We had a wonderful time. We found the island very beautiful, especially the flowers, fresh air and occasional goat. We visited Hania and Heraklion in addition to Rethymnon and we found Rethymnon especially quant & pretty. The hospitality at Avli was wonderful as was the food and we enjoyed shopping at Avli's provisions store. We do a lot of eating when we travel and found the food on Crete to be simple but delicious, especially the honey, yogurt, breads and bbq. We've been recommending the island to all our friends. I thought you would like some feedback on our stay in Crete. First of all, the taxi driver you booked for us (Gregory) was great. We were almost the last people to collect our luggage from the carousel, but there he was patiently waiting for us in Arrivals with a big smile. He is a charming man and we will definitely use his services when we return to Crete again. Secondly, our stay at the Avli Suites was lovely. We stayed in the White Room and it was absolutely delightful. Very comfortable and the location was fantastic. Breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay, especially as it was served until 12.00 noon. The food was exquisite, as was the beautiful courtyard in which it was served. Katerina, one of the owners of Avli, came and spoke to us early on in our stay to make sure that we were happy with everything, which was very nice. But the font of all knowledge was Nikos who could not do enough for us and is a thoroughly nice guy. We would have no hesitation in recommending the Avli Suites.
