OUR REVIEW

We all want to stay by the harbour in Chania and so should you! If you can, stay somewhere that reflects the history and character of the town and in this case, where possible... in a "room with a view".
Belmondo Hotel is a find. It is a small hotel with just 8 rooms, some with balcony or terrace, some overlook the Venetian Harbour. Rooms are all interesting, simply, finely and tastefully furnished, well-finished. This is one of the original Venetian waterfront buildings which has been restored while still revealing the original features - a domed ceiling here, a surprising stone nook there and polished wood staircase to all three floors.
Staying in a room named for example "Michelangelo" gives you a feel for the place.

Breakfast is served on the balcony of the (rear) entrance courtyard or taken in your room.

As this is right in the centre of old Chania, there are cafes, intriguing small shops, restaurants and tavernas are there, every few steps after you walk out of the hotel. Next door by the hotel entrance is an Italian restaurant, a few steps in the other direction takes you to one of the older restaurants of the town or just further on, one of many waterfront cafes where pastries and espresso await your delectation.

Car parking: The old town area is pedestrian-only. So you park on the nearest street or in a car parking area. We will give directions.

THE ROOMS

All rooms have traditional style, yet well-lit, windows, smart bathrooms with jacuzzi bathtub or shower cabin, writing table, chairs, style and quality. 7 rooms have twin beds (close together) and 1 room has a double bed. The suite on the top floor is high-ceilinged, most spacious and has an impressive harbour view.
Rooms vary: some with sea view and balcony or terrace, some with city view or centre of building window-light.
