OUR REVIEW

In half an hour after the wheels touch down at Heraklion airport you drive up to your villa.
Hyperion Villas, offers two villas with two bedrooms each and views across the bay of Agia Pelagia - a bay that seems to always have a calm, easy-to-swim, sea. From your villa you can view the beach and frontage, the hills opposite and out to sea.

Fully equipped, including an outdoor jacuzzi with a view, a small plunge pool with a heart-warming view from every room - from inside and outside!
 

An upper attic style bedroom with a trap door you can lower for absolute privacy, has window and extra large balcony to the view, private bathroom and a double bed. Below this is the kitchen and dining area and the living area with fireplace and cozy sofas.

The kitchen is well equipped with full size oven and hotplates, electric coffee maker, kettle, full size fridge/freezer, microwave and full compliment of plates, cutlery, glasses and cooking utensils.

Anything else you need the family owners are happy to help with.

Downstairs, at the pool level is an indoor but glass fronted pool terrace bar room, and off this is the second bedroom with two single beds and private bathroom. A small room contains an iron and ironing board and clothes washing machine.

Agia Pelagia has many restaurants open in summer months. It is within view, but the way to get there is to drive - the road is a winding coast road from your villa. There are good tavernas, a romantic and delightful (tastes and flavours) smarter restaurant, Caldera - on the beach front. The cafe next to it is in a refreshing tree setting, and the music tends towards Latin/Cuban, jazz, rhythmic-sooth sounds that are a welcome oasis and break from much popular "dance thump" music to be found in some other cafes.

One day the small beach which is closest to you may appeal, this is Lygaria with its few tavernas and generally quieter beach. There is a steep road and path down to the beach within 100 metres of the villa.
 

The location puts you within easy reach of Heraklion and its history and Archaeological museum, plentiful shopping and close proximity to Knossos. Nearby is the pleasingly local but very much alive village of Rogdia and the calm and quiet small old village of Achlada.

THE 2 VILLAS

Each villa has 2 bedrooms (1 double & 1 twin) with en-suite bathrooms (bathtub or shower), and is ideal for up to 2-4 people (up to 6 people maximum, with use of living room sofa bed). Air conditioning/central heating in all rooms. Living room with fireplace and ceiling to floor windows and open sea views. Satellite TV (in living room and both bedrooms), DVD-player, wireless internet connection. Heated outdoor jacuzzi. Small outdoor plunge pool (that can be lit at night). Barbecue. Washing machine, iron & ironing board. Hairdryers. Safe deposit box. Baby cot and high chair available.
