Idi Hotel - Zaros
OUR REVIEW A very pleasant retreat-like hotel with some resort facilities. Set just outside the friendly village of Zaros, with beautiful spacious well-flowered gardens and fine trees. Swimming pool and tennis court. Good rooms of several styles, with air conditioning, dining facilities. Near the small picturesque lake of Zaros. The gorge is a well-liked and manageable walk. Many picturesque villages, stunning mountain ranges and superb excursions by car. About 40 minutes from south coast beaches. Wonderful getaway. Perfect base for touring and hiking.
Only 1 hour and 20 minutes from Heraklion airport. We recommend that you rent a car, other means of transport are limited and/or infrequent.
The trip was superb! The Idi Hotel is a wonderful place to stay, and we will
definitely stay there again. probably next year.
Thankyou for helping us with the arrangements.
Anne & John Jones Our stay in Hotel Idi in Zaros. It was quiet with very good airconditioning. The rooms were rather basic (also the price); it was a good price/quality relation. Our stay was pleasant. We regret that the owner-family did not make more contact or friendship during the stay. Frans Wolfert We enjoyed Crete very much. While our week there was hardly enough to see half of the island, I'm sure we will return sometime to see more. Copyright CreteTravel.com - protected As to the Idi Hotel, the place was very pleasant. It was quiet but then again we were there in the last few days of the season. The room was comfortable, equipped with good heating & air conditioning. It was, however a bit more remote for the purpose of exploring most of the island, in hindsight it probably would have been better to have based ourselves on the north coast as we would have saved many hours travelling. The only real complaint I have has to do with the extravegant claims in terms of the hotel having a spa and health club. The actual facilities were limited to an unheated indoor pool and a non-functional sauna. The intent may be there but in fact, we swam upon arrival and never again. In any event, thanks for asking.
