OUR REVIEW

Lato Hotel, the first boutique city hotel in Heraklion (Iraklio) - brings high style to Crete. Comfort, service and a perfect central location from which to sample Heraklion's variety of museums, restaurants, cafes, shops and nightlife. Just aside from the boisterous bustle but so close to museums, restaurants, shops and cafes; 5 minutes walk or taxi ride from the arrival point at the port from Athens and Santorini - the same convenience for departures and a ten minute taxi ride from Heraklion airport.

There are impressive dark wood trimmings, unique-to-each-room decor, designer light fittings, swish coverings, solidly fine furniture and quality atmosphere. Rooms have views, many have great views across the marina part of the harbour to the Koules fortress and out to sea.
Rooms are smart, special-feeling and have the neat luxury touches of a tasteful city base. Excellent mattresses contribute to peaceful and restful sleep. Suites are a treat in store. There are balconies, some with terraces and even glass-covered conservatory areas.

The hotel will also act as a living, ever-changing art gallery - rooms and general areas will display new works by artists from all over Greece and from Crete.

A steam room, giant Jacuzzi whirlpool, small workout room and panoramic-view roof terrace with drinks service on the roof. Satellite TV, real local direct internet connection in every room (easily connect with your laptop), air conditioning, telephones with message system - are some of the equipment and tech features.

The open plan bar, lobby and lounge is decorated in contemporary and tasteful stone, leather and marble.
There is a restaurant spanning the breakfast to dinner appetite, with Cretan specialties and an extensive menu. And in the winter a boutique, gourmet restaurant with impressive decor ("Brilliant").
In the summer the roof-top terrace opens as a restaurant with a variety of foods and splendid views.
Professionally run with charming and helpful service. The perfect hideaway in Heraklion.

Hello! The hotel you recomended for us in Heraklion was superb! We arrived and stepped into the luxury suites on the roof and it was marvellous - the view, having the balcony space to dine outside and also my mothers suite next door worked perfectly. Thankyou very much. Should we ever go to Greece again I will definitely use you.
regards, Lorna Kimberley

Lato hotel was exactly what we needed after a long journey, the staff were really friendly helpful and welcoming, the room was spotless, lovely view from the balcony, very quiet despite the fact they were having considerable building work done, breakfast was delicious, fresh fruits, yoghurts, a good English fry up if you could manage it, cheeses, tomatoes, olives, good coffee, need I go on. Nothing was too much trouble, our car hire didn't turn up, so they sorted that for us. A week later when we were waiting for yet another taxi which didn't turn up in Heraklion, we went to the hotel bar to have a drink, and they ordered another taxi for us, no problem. i would certainly stay there again.

We loved our stay at the Lato Hotel. We loved our view from our room and we loved the buffet breakfast. We thought the free internet service was great and convenient. We did not find that in any of our other hotels in Greece. We had to pay for it. We loved everything about the Lato Hotel and hope to stay there when we come back to Crete. We are just sorry that we couldn't stay longer this time. We will definitely stay at the Lato Hotel when we come there again. I would also recommend it to my friends. Thank you for your hospitality.

The Lato hotel was fine but expensive and the regular rooms were small although the 2 room suite we had was large and the balcony was very large and very nice. The area around the hotel needs work (not the hotel which was very nice but the surrounding area). There's a lot of renovation going on so in the future the overall area might be nicer.
We only stayed there one night and quite honestly I was mostly reminded why I'm not a big fan of Heraklion. So... I think the hotel was probably as good a choice as was available in the harbor area. From what I recall we didn't have many options. Short of turning heraklion into Chania or Rethymnon, no complaints.

They were full, so upgraded us to their top of the line suite (i assume this is because of your relationship with them, so thanks) The room was great, with a wonderful view of the harbour and the fort, and far-and-away our most comfortable bed in Greece. The restaurant was also great, as was the breakfast buffet. This was the best place we stayed on our trip.

The Lato was fine, good situation, but the room was small.

Your arrangements for us at Lato hotel were excellent and the room offered a view that was spectacular. There was a plate of fresh fruit and a cold bottle of wine in the room to greet our arrival, a pleasant surprise which we deeply appreciate, and I might add, put to good use. The staff at Lato Hotel was very cordial and did everything to make this special occasion more enjoyable for us.

Everything worked fine with the one exception of the instructions on how to find the Lato. Not your fault but ours in trying to read from too small a map. Given the traffic in Iraklion you should dissuade all of your clients from even thinking about driving in there!! The only criticism I have is that the room (102) allocated to us in the Lato was much too small for 2 people and yet it called it a 'superior double room'. It most certainly was not that. However, the staff could not have been more helpful. With our thanks

Hotel Lato was as claimed a modern hotel in the centre of Heraklion with wonderful views towards the harbour. It lived up to its label as a boutique hotel and was excellent. Very good location. Very good restaurant. We very much enjoyed the two places we chose to stay in Crete – wonderful scenery and of course Knossos was very interesting.
Also thanks again for spending the time finding out various measurements which enabled us to stay at both hotels and my [disabled] sister could stay in very nice rooms, both with views.
Best Regards, Mary Easingwood
We were absolutely delighted with everything, most especiially the taxi transfers which were the icing on the cake - prompt and comfortable with very courteous drivers. His only ciriticism was that he thought Lato Hotel in Heraklion a little expensive for such a small room - our bed was up against the wall on one side. No doubt they only use it for people staying just one night like us. Your help has been invaluable on 2 occasions now and we live in hope we can make it to 3! Many thanks, once again.
