OUR REVIEW

Created in the mountains, way above the road that leads from the north coast of Crete to the tropical beach at Elafonisi.
Traditional stone and timber houses have been constructed to replicate the true, original style of life in Crete. However, houses are reasonably comfortable (though bathrooms are a bit basic and small) - but the comfort is as far as possible delivered in a natural, ecologically friendly and efficient way.
Electricity gives way to oil or gas lamps or candles. Hot water for your shower is always on tap. Fireplaces or wood stoves heat your room. Wireless satellite internet connection is available (in the restaurant building) free of charge (you can also charge the battery of your laptop or mobile phone there).
Outdoor seating perches and indoor coziness in a heavily wooded area, with endless walking/hiking trails.

Has the atmosphere of an "alternative" place of this era, alternative in philosophy, without complete loss of comfort - clearly for the lucky few! 

NOTE: During winter 2007/2008, the hotel is being renovated (this should be completed by the end of April 2008). From May 2008 the rooms will feature upgraded bathrooms, Coco-mat mattresses, improved outside sitting areas and more efficient heating, solar power & waste management installations.

THE ROOMS
Standard Double rooms: Double or twin beds, en-suite bathroom with shower.
Large Double rooms: Double or twin beds, a sitting area, en-suite bathroom with shower.

Triple rooms: Double & single or 3 single beds, en-suite bathroom with shower.

Quadruple rooms: These can be 2 double rooms with interconnecting door, sharing 1 en-suite bathroom. Or, 2 rooms on two levels, with internal staircase. 1 bathroom en-suite upstairs and 1 bathroom downstairs, but outside. All bathrooms with shower. Upstairs balcony.

Suites: open plan layout, living area with 2 sofa-beds, cast iron wood stove, bedroom in gallery, private courtyard and terrace.
All rooms are naturally cool (they do not have air conditioning - or electricity).

DISTANCES
Paleochora (large sandy beach) - 31 km.
Chania - 55 km, Chania airport - 65 km. Kissamos - 23 km.
We recommend that you rent a car, other means of transport are limited and/or infrequent (you cannot reach Milia by public transport).

Rates are per room, per night and include buffet breakfast and all taxes.

Children 0-4 years old: free of charge.

Halfboard is an extra 18.00 Euros/person, excluding drinks. Please indicate if you would like halfboard included in your quote.
All meals are prepared with natural, local ingredients, mostly organic and cultivated by Milia.
Cooking courses are available at Milia (twice a week, 3-hour long).
