OUR REVIEW

"Great location" you think as you see the name of Mochlos villas on the wall when you turn off the zig-zag road down to Mochlos. Just a bit above the village - 4-7 minutes walk (downhill or uphill) from the waterfront tavernas, with a view of Mochlos island and its archaeological ruins, and the blue sea stretching endlessly from the cluster of rooftops that make up the small village just below you.

Not far from the most delightful villages along the scenic coast road to Sitia, just a few minutes to Agios Nikolaos.

Mild in winter and of course sunny in summer, Mochlos is a quiet destination less than 90 minutes' coast drive from the main airport at Heraklion and 45 minutes from pleasant Sitia in the east. Agios Nikolaos with more bustle, more shops, restaurants of all prices, its combination of "lake", harbour and in-town beach is 30 minutes' drive away.

The villas, solid stone build, compact terrace-surrounded swimming pools, might well be the "villas that music built" for the owner is one of the foremost violinists and lyra players, composers and recording artists, in Greece. This fine young Cretan musician has even sited his advanced recording studio beneath the villas (completely sound-proofed) and lays down tracks there when not touring as guest violin and lyra player, as recently, with the Greek national television symphony orchestra.

Combination of painted wood-framed windows, delicate soft coloured floor tiles, quality air conditioning, amply equipped modern kitchens and bathrooms and a choice of two or three-bedroom villas. Private - for there are only three available for the fortunate few.

THE VILLAS

3 villas in total, two with 3 bedrooms (Alcestis & Calypso) and one with 2 bedrooms (Muses).

Villa Alcestis: 150 m², two levels, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. Pool 28 m². Faces north & east.
Villa Calypso: 150 m², two levels, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. Pool 34 m². Is a "mirror" of Alcestis - faces north & west.

Villa Muses: 90 m², single level, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. Pool 32 m². Faces north-west and has larger shaded veranda.

FEATURES IN ALL VILLAS

Private swimming pool, parking space.
Bedrooms have: Queen-size bed or twin beds (close together) with down pillows and ultra-comfortable & anatomic Coco-Mat de luxe mattresses. Bathrobes & slippers, hairdryer, 21" satellite TV and DVD player.
Sitting room with sea & village views, fireplace, 31" TV with satellite channels and DVD player, HiFi, dual line telephones, internet access. Open plan kitchen with 4-ring cooker with oven, fridge, microwave oven, kettle, toaster, cutlery & utensils. Dining table for 6 people.
Bathrooms: each villa has 2 bathrooms - 1 with shower en suite with a bedroom and 1 with jacuzzi bathtub & twin sink, between 2 bedrooms. Marble sinks. Greek "Korres" natural toiletries.

All rooms have smart LG air-conditioning units.

Table & chairs on the veranda, sun loungers and umbrellas by your swimming pool.

Daily cleaning/maid service. Reception service (always someone there who can help & advise you).

We recommend that you rent a car, other means of transport are limited and infrequent (you cannot reach Mochlos by public transport).

Rates are per villa (up to 4 people), per night. They include air conditioning (cooling/heating) and all taxes.
Additional adult: +10 euros/person per day.

Children 0-2 years are free of charge (baby-cot provided).
Children 2-12 years are +6 euros/child per day.
LONG STAY: 7 nights or more, a reduction may be possible, depending on availability.

MINIMUM STAY: 3-5 nights, depending on season.
