OUR REVIEW

Three new, fine villas with pools on the hillside that contains most of Istron village.
Nimfes Villas are very spacious and bright. The character is clean, modern lines with a touch of luxury. Well finished inside and out, on a single floor layout, with 3 or 2 bedrooms. Furnished with tasteful decoration and quality interiors. Marble floors and bathrooms. Comfortable bedrooms with good, firm mattresses and large fitted wardrobes. All the mod-cons, including a TV in every room and DVD players.
Fireplace in the living room, ample dining area, superbly equipped kitchens.
Sizeable freshwater pools and plenty of terrace space to enjoy your sunbathing or dining al fresco.

All villas have a significant sea view. Each is 10 metres above or below the other to preserve some privacy and better sea views. You are in the middle of a village here, so your peripheral views include rooftops and other houses nearby.
The villas are generally peaceful, though the sound of other people and their pets is never far away (village life!).

There are several shops and reasonable tavernas & cafes in Istron.
A big plus: the village's two sandy beaches, an enjoyable place to swim from.
Numerous walking opportunities both near the coast or up in the hills and mountains.

For a change perhaps, a meal at the gastronomically led Istron Bay hotel with its fine beach (800 m away). 25 minutes by car or bus takes you to Agios Nikolaos town, where numerous shops, cafes, restaurants, harbour-side strolls, clubs and other attractions are readily on offer.

From Istron, one of the most scenic cross-island drives takes you past Kalamafka (the point where you can sea both the Libyan and Cretan seas), past the Bramiana dam, to beaches on the south coast and just to the east, the town of Ierapetra.
The lace-making village of Kritsa is a short drive. For cultural and scenic fare, the road to Sitia will take you to Cretan villages, the Faneromeni Monastery, sweet little Sitia, the Toplou monastery and the delights of Zakros palace (archaeological site at Kato Zakros).

THE VILLAS
Villa Melia  [3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms - 130 m²]

1 master bedroom with queen-size bed & en-suite marble bathroom with air jet bathtub, 1 master bedroom with twin beds & en-suite bathroom with shower, 1 bedroom with twin beds & separate bathroom with shower. Spacious living room & kitchen. Private pool. 3 terraces.
This is the lower villa, open views but closer to the road.
 

Villa Kallisto [2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms - 105 m²]

1 master bedroom with queen-size bed & en-suite marble bathroom with air jet bathtub and 1 bedroom with twin beds & separate bathroom with shower. Spacious living room & kitchen. Private pool. 2 terraces.
This is the middle villa, more "contained" and private, better framed views.

Villa Akali [2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms - 105 m²]

1 master bedroom with queen-size bed & en-suite marble bathroom with air jet bathtub and 1 bedroom with twin beds & separate bathroom with shower. Spacious living room & kitchen. Private pool. 2 terraces.
The upper most villa, closer to neighbours. Sea views somewhat marred by surrounding buildings and cables.

Air conditioning in all rooms. Fireplace, marble floors, marble bathrooms, satellite TV in all rooms, DVD player, mini-stereo with CD player, cordless telephone (direct dial), connection for laptop.
Fully equipped modern kitchen with large fridge, oven, dining table, microwave, coffee machine, all cutlery and utensils. Washing machine, ironing board.
Private freshwater pools, size 4X8 m (1.4 m deep), with hydro-massage. Two (or three) terraces, one sea-facing with views to the bay and one east-facing back terrace with lawn. Wooden sunbeds & umbrellas, table & chairs.

Complimentary: welcome bottle of wine & fruit on arrival, beach towels, baby cot.
Services included: parking, cleaning every day except Sunday, linen change 3 times/week, pool cleaning every day.
