OUR REVIEW

Palazzino di Corina is a hotel superbly adapted from an ancient, traditional building. The result, as you walk through the stone-pillared entrance into the reception area, is peace and calm with quality. The reception and lobby feature lovely antiques, an ancient well, and much furnishing dating from the owners of the original building.
Sitting in the middle of the old narrow streets of Rethymno's old town, two minutes stroll from the harbour itself and the port, this is Rethymno at its best.
An intimate, romantic and charming small hotel. Perfect for couples, honeymoon stays, or families who like something better than the norm.

Exposed ancient stones and hewn archways lead to and frame, the breakfast room (reminiscent of a fine dining room in an excellent eating place) leads out into the centre courtyard. A feast for sitting, lounging or swimming/cooling down in the small pool. The pool is laser-heated when necessary and also has against-the-flow swimming and hydro-jets so its size belies its usefulness and benefit.

There are 21 rooms and suites, on three floors. The bedrooms and suites are of high quality, well decorated with antique style, furnished with ample closet space, large queen size beds, clothes horses, trompe l'oeil, hand painted basins and finely finished bathrooms - most of them with bathtubs. Rooms are bright and airy (big windows everywhere - a rare find in such a thick-walled old building).
Some larger suites have a two storey layout (maisonettes) with high wood beam ceilings and a galleried upper sleeping area. Whether you choose (for more people or more space) a larger suite or a more standard size room, you will not feel hemmed in.
Many rooms have balconies, some large, some more correctly described as "balcony-ettes", all providing the chance to throw open large double glazed windows or doors and sample the feel and atmosphere, the very air of the place you are in. Some suites have views over rooftops to the harbour and mountains.

Air conditioning (mostly by a central - better - air conditioning system) can be kept at the temperature you find comfortable.
Room service is available, also laundry service, babysitting and personal care and attention.
For disabled people, there is a special room available.

Palazzino di Corina is a very tempting place to enjoy calm and quality while being able to walk out into both the quiet and the more bustling areas of Rethymno. First footfall on sand, the beach, takes only a five minute walk.

Rethymno is a convenient place to stay, just over an hour from both Chania and Heraklion (and Knossos) and bringing hillside and mountain villages, monasteries and lakes within easy reach for a day's outing.

Palazzino di Corina was excellent

We had a fantastic time in Crete and will definitely plan another trip out there some day soon! Our hotels were all fabulous, our hotel room in Rethymnon was lovely although there was no view of the city/sea from the third floor - the balcony looked directly into a building opposite which was too high to see over... Thanks once again for all your help - your service was fantastic and was much appreciated!!!
Kind regards, Claudia Pollard
We thought the desk persons were helpful, given their response. When we first arrived, my husband asked for a room with a double bed, as ours was twin beds pushed together and the man on the desk told us that it was impossible to get a different room, as the hotel was fully booked. He then asked for help with the in-room internet connection and the same desk person came up to the room, looked for the connection but couldn't find it (it didn't exist) and finally suggested that we use the internet at his desk. Obviously this isn't the same as having your own private access. With respect to the tv, there was no satellite tv connection and only Greek channels, we had our own cable but there was no outlet for it.
