Hotel Porto Loutro - Loutro (Sfakia)
OUR REVIEW In two distinct buildings the hotel is the modest princess of one of the most special places in Crete, Loutro. Almost all rooms have a wondrous mountain and sea view. Rooms have private balcony, bathroom
and air conditioning. Each part of the hotel has a
bar/cafe and breakfast area. Loutro is accessible by a 20 minute trip on the ferry from Sfakia - this journey and arriving with the magical vision of the bay appearing before you will start restoring you to prime performance!
Please note that Hotel Porto Loutro is unable to
accommodate children under 7.
Porto Loutro Photo Gallery We loved Loutro, both the hotel &
the surroundings, & would happily go back there one day - we still had
things we would have liked to explore. Patricia Rothwell Newly returned from Crete, I thought I would let you know how much we enjoyed our time there--and how useful your web descriptions were. Porto Loutro was everything you said it would be--clean, simple and superbly positioned. Sarah Newell Thank you for following up our trip to Porto Loutro - it already seems ages ago! I am pleased to report that it was 100% successful for my wife and myself and for our 2 friends. We could not have enjoyed it more. The taxis to & from the airport were fine the hotel and Porto Loutro could not be bettered. It is an absolutely beautiful place, and the weather was great. The hotel was also fine, we were not expecting anything grand, and it was all very clean and comfortable. Alison was good fun and made us very welcome. We definitely want to go again (and again), probably not till next May, and we will certainly get in touch with you when we know the dates. Best regards, Tim La Haye Just to say that we had a fantastic holiday in Loutro, we would highly recomend the Hotel we stayed in, Porto loutro, and that the travelling and all the connections were brilliant and that i will definately be using you again next time we go to Loutro in Crete. Ann Moore Our ten days in Crete were idyllic. We meandered to the south coast after flying into Heraklion using local buses which were really cheap and very comfortable, and gave us terrific views of the coast and small villages en route to Porto Loutro. Spring is the perfect time to see Crete with its beautifil wild flowers and herbs colouring the landscape. Porto Loutro was even better than we'd hoped. Quiet, so beautiful, with walking paths up into small villages and along coastal paths. Walking boots are a must if, like us, you wanted to explore, and we certainly did that. A perfect place to walk, flop, read , swim, paint, eat healthily, sip wine, and if you poke around sample simple, but genuinely Cretan food, with kind happy people Don't tell too many people as I 'm hoping to sample the wild flower week with friends next year....and I rarely visit any place twice, as the world has much to offef!! Magic. Thank you. Catherine Elliott Porto Loutro is just exceptional. We could have stayed there much longer. Be sure your website readers know about all the historical ruins Roman and medieval) so easily accessible by foot. Sheryl Macy Loutro is a magical place, and the hotel was perfect. Alison was an was a wonderful host…we will definitely be back! Thanks for everything. Kevin St John I can assure you that our stay in Loutro was just what we had hoped for: quiet and peaceful with lovely walks in the mountains and excellent food as a reward afterwards. Copyright CreteTravel.com - protected We hope to go back to Loutro too, but don't know if it will be possible next year due to our work, bit we'll sure try!In case we do, I think flying to Chania would be better, and also to book a taxi (fixed price) since bus transportation turned out to be impossible. But you had warned me about that. But Loutro - as I said - was really perfect for us. Some friends think it a punishment to walk 45 minutes to and back from the beach, but not we. Thanks for your help to arrange everything, the hotel was very good, espevially sitting there at night enjoying the moon and seaview... All the best, Hanne Skrikerud The time in Loutro was absolutely incredible, much better than expected. Alison and all the staff at Porto Loutro were great and very friendly. We felt very at home during our stay. Katherine Harrison Loutro was also stunning, the hotel was fine & friendly, although our room was not particularly spacious. Nonetheless we had a lovely & relaxing week. It's probably not the sort of place we would continually return to, as I think due to it's location, we have done it now & maybe 4 days would have been enough. However again , no regrets.
