OUR REVIEW

Sometimes you just want to stay in an amazing place on the beach. This is it. Charming, tidy and modern, six lovely sea view apartments - cozy. Exclusive location right on a pebble beach with some sand, there are a few rocks as you enter the sea. The centre of Agia Galini is a seafront ten minute walk.

One of a few such intimate spots in Crete at sand and sea's side.
All apartments have one (separate) bedroom, a living room with kitchenette, air conditioning, satellite TV and a magical balcony overlooking the beach and the south coast sea. You feel exclusive and pampered, even in this simple accommodation.
Next to it is the quiet and well kept taverna (Cretan, Greek and Italian cuisine), beachside cafe and large areas to enjoy quiet moments to sit, play chess on the giant outdoor chessboard for example. All of this is run for you by the welcoming and helpful Petrakakis family who own both the apartments and the restaurant.

Agia Galini has some unique features. A small town growing up its hillside with harbour edged with cafes and tavernas smaller shops and a beach to the side of the harbour. It provides variety, entertainment, small shops and boat trips. You can visit Matala or Phaestos in 25 minutes or Rethymno in an hour, by car. Numerous villages on the Amari to Zaros and Spili routes beckon with the temptation of traditional hospitality and the spectrum of local life.

DISTANCES
Agia Galini harbour & centre - 800 m.
Heraklion town & airport - 78 km, Rethymno - 55 km, Phaestos & Agia Triada - 25 km, Zaros - 36 km, Matala - 30 km.

CreteTravel.com guest experiences of Romantika Apartments    [Click here to SHOW/HIDE]
Our stay in Romantika Apts was a great success, and we have no complaints. Excellent room. The Romantika taverna was good too - best spinach pie I have eaten! - and we had most of our meals there.

We had a great time on Crete and there was really nothing that could have been improved from your part.
We enjoyed Romantika very much and got a fantastic room which we thank you for! (it pays to book in January!) Thank you for your kind and positive help.
Best regards, Sonia & Magnus Ã…kerberg
Excellent quality apartments, clean, well maintained and definitely good value - the internet pictures and other information gave an accurate picture. The owner Heidi, was not very welcoming or chatty, but i don't mean bad by this. It didn't worry us - more it was a lost opportunity to interact with clients. We would definitely recommend this property to others.

The Romantika was lovely. The setting was great, we drove all over the center of the island, met some wonderful people, and I learned to read a little Greek (I was a linguist once upon a time).

Everything was fine - rooms, sea view, room service. Thank you! Romantika apartments were VERY GOOD!!
It was a very nice surprise for me that all the people there mainly speak German. I speak German too.

You can tell your future guests that they will need to rent a car if staying in A.Galini. The stone beach and stone entrance into the sea is not the best variant of beach holiday. But in the evening they can eat in on of the taverna's. We are very much satisfied with our Crete travel.
We even visited Balos. It was something! No road, just stones and goals jumping from the mountain onto the car. On the way back to Romantika we had to wish off the stress in Kourna Lake. It was a great pleasure!!

It was nice, and I have a good comparison with staying in Santorini in the next ten days and I can say Crete provides much more opportunities (a week in santorini is enough anyway) and villa georgia is not comperable to romantika).
Romantika was great (just windy) and if I shoud find any wrong experiences a few day the evergreens was too loudly from the restaurant. - I am absolutly satisfied with your services - i'll suggest your services to my friends who will like going to crete.
Thanks once more, Janos Mogyorosi
Our trip to Crete was great - both hotels extremely kind, helpful and comfortable. (And quiet enough!) Also the car was fine. Thanks very much for your help and advice, We shall certainly return!
