Roubini Hotel, Falasarna - review, photos & reservations

Built in 2006, with splendid views over Falasarna bay, Roubini Hotel offers spacious studios, with kitchenettes, balconies and fabulous views.
The open expanse of sea and the beach at Falasarna, a sweeping, surprisingly big and open vista is revealed as you follow the winding road down the hill after leaving Platanos village.

You will soon appreciate being able to wake up for the days ahead of you at Roubini with this BIG view.
These vistas also fill the windows or terraces of the breakfast and cafe area where drinks, coffees and snacks available all day. A spacious lounge area with the same view - is here if a change from your own studio is called for. Or when you stay early or late in the year and want to read, chat or lounge on a cooler or blustery day, but be indoors. The west coast is quite often breezy, sometimes windy.

Falasarna has numerous naturally divided parts to its enormous beach - the better to swim, sunbathe and lounge. There are sandy stretches, pebbled areas, sand with dramatic and interesting shelf-like rock strips.
The Falasarna archaeological site is expansive and clearly shows ancient room layouts; a settlement older than memories, but easy to imagine. It is open to wander around and study, it currently has no admission or supervision. It is at the northern end of the beach.

The village of Platanos a spiraling road and 10 minute drive away, has bank ATM cash machines and supermarkets, a few tavernas and shops. There is also a taverna just 50 metres from Roubini - same fine views! Four tavernas are at various parts of the sprawling Falasarna beach. A couple of cafes include the Orange Blue cafe, which has the beach bar atmosphere of a bygone era - pretty outdoor decor and plants, great vantage point and relaxed ambience with good music played most of the day.

THE STUDIOS & APARTMENTS
3 Apartments (1 bedroom & separate living room), take up to 4-5 people ( 39m2).
4 Studios (single-space, bedroom/living room combined), take up to 2-3 people (29m2).

2 larger Studios (single-space, bedroom/living room combined), with larger bathrooms, take up to 4 people (34m2).
Rooms have mostly twin beds - and sofa-bed(-s) that can be converted to beds.
All have air conditioning, satellite TV and double-glazed windows. Kitchenettes with 2 hotplates (no oven) and utensils for quick meals or snacks, sink and refrigerator.
Bathrooms have shower and WC (no shower curtains).
All rooms have sea views and balcony or terrace.

DISTANCES
Falasarna beach - 3 km, Platanos village - 4 km, Kissamos- 14 km, Kolymbari - 26 km, Chania - 47 km, Chania airport - 57 km.
We recommend that you rent a car, other means of transport are limited and/or infrequent.

This hotel just what we needed, the views from our room were absolutely amazing, and the Sunsets were simply awesome. the only observation I would make about the Roubini is that, they should provide a kettle in the room, as boiling water in a pot on an electric ring can be hazadous, I would certaily recommend this hotel to any of your other clients

Hi Everything went fine, I found the appartment good value, big, spacious, beautiful view/sunset, etc. The son of the owner family is very helpful. The only thing that was slightly surprising was that they did not accept credit card - and I had to drive to go and fetch cash. And imagine what I would have had to collect if I'd have stayed a week ... Not very practical. All in all, very good.
