OUR REVIEW

At last! Sitia Bay. A tasteful place to stay in Sitia. A much-needed, pleasing base from which to explore the east of Crete.
Sitia has lacked hotel we can be happy to suggest ever since we can remember. Sitia Bay hotel, completed & opened during 2005, has now filled this gap. Executed with enthusiasm for exceptional quality of build and materials - well done it is; 2 minutes walk from Sitia's harbour-front square, with wonderful sea views. Steps from Sitia's sandy beach, just across the low-traffic seafront road.

Sound insulation, both between rooms and the exterior, is exceptional. Special sealing materials are used in paints, finishes and construction to produce a result in and outside the rooms, of lasting quality.

Lush and attractive gardens, complete with soothing waterfalls, create a welcome frontage to the hotel building and also "frame" some of the views to the sea.
A sizeable swimming pool, with hydromassage, in the courtyard on the back side of the hotel, with shaded patios, sunbeds and umbrellas completes the scene of comfort.

Also, try the view from the roof, at different times of day, for a panorama of Sitia bay itself!

The 19 studios and apartments have good, modern and bright, furnishing. Each studio/apartment is comfortable, with well equipped kitchenette. A clever Italian designed cantilever table becomes a coffee table, dining table, card table - according to desire and mood! Some rooms have exciting contemporary and colourful paintings.
Sheets are laundered in the hotel's own specially equipped facility without the use of harsh chemicals.

Balconies allow a pre-sampling of the sun and temperature for the day, as you glance at the bobbling sea surface.

From Sitia Bay you can enjoy Sitia, one of the more peaceful small towns in Crete.
Visit: Agios Nikolaos and Ierapetra towns, numerous small villages (Mochlos, Tourloti, Kato Zakros), beaches (Vai, Kouremenos, Itanos, Xerokambos), archaeological ruins (Sitia fortress, palace of Zakros, Gournia), Toplou and Faneromeni Monasteries, the scenic delights and stunning landscapes of the eastern part of Crete. The Sitia Beach hotel was fantastic. The owners were so helpful and friendly with anything and everything and really helped to make our stay very special. The facitlities and hotel itself is also brilliant with fantastic views from both the apartment and room terrace and the swimming pool was also a lovely place to swim and relax.
It was also perfectly located so it was easy to get into town for food or anything else you might need but not too close so as not to be disturbed by noise. I will definitely be recommdending your company and the hotel we stayed in to our friends if they should ever go there.

Just back from Sitia Bay. What can I say? One of the best holidays ever. Everything worked like clockwork.
As for the Sitia Bay. Marks out of 10: 11. What a lovely family; I have rarely met people so dedicated to their work and so attentive to every question or request no matter how small and no matter what time of day.
I am really grateful to you for understanding our tastes and requirements and for meeting them in full. To be honest my wife and I liked Sitia so much we spent some time with an estate agent and are actively considering the possibility of buying an apartment there. I may say that both my sister and mother shared my enthusiasm in full.
Thanks again, Stephen Miller
The family running the Sitia Beach were absolutely fantastic and could not have done more to help. They were friendly and attentive. Bottle of wine, fresh fruit and bread and cakes every day. Fantastic apartment. Tried their utmost to help us with car trouble on our last day - a Sunday morning.

The Sitia Bay Hotel was great. The rooms are great, very modern and well equipped. We came with our little girl and we have found the room, the pool and the little compound for kids very suitable for our need.
We would like to say that management was very professional and also very generous. Our best meal was also in Sitia at the Balcony restaurant. We would also like to thank you for your time and efforts. Your service was kind, useful and very helpful.

We felt all of your Crete accommodations were top notch, but Sitia Bay Hotel stood above the others because of their service. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful in every possible way. They took my parents around town and also to the airport.
In addition, the place was unbelievably spotless and they had just put in wireless internet access (a big deal to us because we use our laptop to make future travel arrangements, check schedules, email photos, etc).
The kids loved the pool as well as being directly across from the beach. And their kitchen was the best equipped of any of the places we stayed in Greece. This is also very important to us because we actually use the kitchen for many meals. If only there was more to do in and around Sitia but for us that was ok because we had been so busy in the Chania area.

It was all superb. The hotel (Sitia Bay hotel) was absolutely gorgeous, and owner Pavlos (& his son Eric) were charming and helpful.
We'd certainly go back. Minor quibble at the end, in that Pavlos wanted paying in cash, while we'd been prepared to do it via Visa. But he made up for it by running us to the airport gratis, by allowing us to use his laundry facilties, and by arranging cheap internet access for us from our room!! So, 10/10 marks to you all. We'd highly recommend it.
Thanks & regards, Julian Pinfold
The Sitia Bay Hotel is outstanding in hospitality, customer service and cleanliness.
As we ourselves run a Guest House in the UK and aim to provide an excellent service we have quite high standards and expectations when we travel.
I have got to say the Sitia Bay Hotel exceeds any level of hospitality we have experienced anywhere. Particularly nice is the daily supply of fresh baked cakes and fresh baked bread when you need it. This augments an already extremely generous welcome pack. The owners were so helpful and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble.

The apartments are beautifully presented with special touches like flower arrangements and nice art, and very clean. The public areas were charmingly arranged and all the facilities clean and new. We could not fault anything. We will be returning to Sitia in September 2007 for our daughter's wedding and have already recomended to our family and friends to use Crete Travel for any travel plans and especially for them to stay at the Sitia Bay Hotel. Thanks for your help and for arranging our stay at such a perfect hotel.

The trip to Greece and Crete was great, thank you. Have been coming to Crete for 12 years now. The hotel Sitia Bay apartments were terrific, probably the best quality apartments and furnishings we've had in Greece; the staff were excellent and the breakfast items they left for us each day were very good. All in all a very good holiday and thank you for your part in helping with the Sitia arrangements.

We stayed in Sitia Bay Hotel for 6 nights and we have to say that we thouht it was superb. We loved Sitia, and we loved the hotel - it was better than our expectations, and looks much nicer in reality than on the website. The photos don't do it justice! We loved the hotel - quiet, super clean, fantastic pool and patio area.
It was obvious that everything had been thought about in great detail - such as lovely wooden poolside furniture, and one of the best welcome packs ever - fresh home-made bread and delicious cakes, and even a bottle of local wine.
The owners were extremely helpful, and I would recommend the place to anyone. We enjoyed east Crete (though secretly prefer the west!). Sitia beach was OK, the sea very nice, especially the remoter beaches which had beautiful seas and fish. We were very happy with our holiday thank you.
Best wishes, Kim Tobin
We did indeed have an enjoyable visit thanks to your clients in Sitia (Sitia Bay Hotel) Paul and Renatta. I have travelled around the world extensively for both work and pleasure and cannot recommend this hotel, and indeed these owners, highly enough. They would have to be the best hosts in the business and no-one referred to this hotel will be disappointed. That area of Crete is also far more attractive than the West Coast.
