Veneto Hotel - Rethymno
OUR REVIEW Located in the heart of the Venetian Old Town of
Rethymno is the 15th century building of Veneto Hotel. Carefully and attractively restored as
a unique small hotel
of ten studios and suites. The well regarded restaurant (open May to
October) offers Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, in its 700 year old
garden. Rethymno's sandy beach stretches for many kilometres. The town has a large number of good restaurants along with cafes, bars, clubs and other entertainment. Its location is suited to exploring the inland villages dotted along the old national road, and it is only 45 minutes from Chania and its Venetian harbour. Heraklion's attractions (including Knossos) are just over an hour's drive.
THE ROOMS Studios have the sitting area/kitchenette and bedroom combined. Suites
have a sitting area/kitchenette and a door leading into a separate
bedroom.
IN
STUDIOS & SUITES
Fridge and cooking facilities.
IN THE HOTEL Bar, restaurant (open May to October), desktop PC with internet access for guests, massage & sauna on request. Garden
with wells and fountains. Just wanted to drop you a line to thank you for all your help with
regards to our recent visit to Crete.
The "Veneto," hotel was superbly located in the heart of the Old Town in
Rethymno - we had a fabulous time and especially enjoyed the historical
sites and
Wonderful fish restaurants.
Thanks once again for making our stay in Crete such a relaxing,
enjoyable family holiday.
Kind regards, Sharon Bagley We had a beautiful room with individual features that was cosy on the cold nights and open to the sound of the courtyard fountain during the day. In all locations we appreciated the proximity to the town centre as we wanted to walk and use public buses. James & Lorraine McGhie Many thanks for the travel advice and finding the wonderful Veneto hotel. On our arrival, after 9pm, hotel staff were deployed along the route of the narrow streets - taxi could not get to the door - to make sure we found it! The room was very good and staff friendly and efficient. we used local buses to see Chania and Heraklion and also to see the palace of Knossos and museum. thanks again. Roger Saxon We had a very pleasant holiday in Crete. Accommodation [Veneto] was first class, food very good, location good and locals very friendly. Our first time to Crete and we were favourably impressed. Regards David Greenhalgh We had a absolutely marvelous time in Crete. The Veneto was just what I was looking for. Had alittle trouble finding it. I had forgot to bring the directions and most of the people who were up at 7 in the morning weren't sure where it was. We didn't do a lot of touring while on Crete. We just took it easy and explored Rethymno. We would go back in a heart beat given the chance. The people were great and the history is rich. Thank you for your help, Darlene Watson Yes we thoroughly enjoyed Crete, thank you. Veneto Suites is a lovely little hotel, very atmospheric and comfortable. Your recommendation and arrangements were very good. Joyce & Richard Ross Veneto was so good it was hard to believe!! We did get into the hotel around eight which was fine. We especially liked Rethymno and the food everywhere was fantastic. I was missing my gyros & Mythos but we’ve found a lovely little Greek restaurant that was here in our own town all the time! Jamie Stevenson Thank you very much for arranging our reservation at Hotel Veneto so efficiently. The room was as described and the service very charming and courteous. Once again thank you for your excellent service. We had a lovely time once again in Crete and are already looking forward to our next stay Corinne Taylor We have returned from our trip from Greece and I just wanted to thank you again for your help in reserving the Veneto Hotel for us. We enjoyed the hotel and Rethymno. I would recommend the restaurant taverna Vassalos that was right beside the hotel entrance as being excellent and very friendly. (the Veneto hotel's own restaurant was not open for the season yet) Even though our travel plans had faced delays, we appreciate your assistance in continuing to be in discussion with the hotel to have a room for us, which they did. Thank you! Efharisto! If anyone we know goes to Crete, we will definitely recommend planning through cretetravel.
