Villa Avra - Near Georgioupoli
OUR REVIEW Stone, solid stone - the real thing. Villa Avra is an elegant, recently built, large two-storey house. High quality finishes throughout. Arches lead from one part of the living area to another, on further to the kitchen. Four spacious bedrooms and three sparkling bathrooms make your stay comfortable. Every bedroom has its own balcony or terrace - which makes your stay most enjoyable. Vine-shaded barbecue and outdoor dining area, garden, many balconies and terraces. Well equipped and spacious kitchen, large dining table. The thick walls provide cool comfort in the summer, though air conditioning is also provided (and central heating in the winter). This most spacious family home has its own round swimming pool and view of the sea. It is a five minute walk down the driveway to the sea and the long sandy beach. Visits from here to the local seaside village of Georgioupoli
only five minutes away. Same distance to Lake Kourna, the only natural
lake in Crete with many lakefront tavernas & boat rides available in
the summer. The old town of Rethymno within 15 minutes and the
Venetian Harbour of Chania within 30 minutes, close enough to drop in for a meal in the
daytime or evening. Easily reach the south coast at Sfakia or Plakias
within an hour. Extensive sandy beaches. VILLA LAYOUT & COMFORTS Ground floor: Living room - two 3-seat sofas, fireplace, TV, mini-stereo with CD player, 2 armchairs, coffee tables, backgammon board. Kitchen (off the living area) - electric stove with oven and hotplates, full-size fridge, coffee machine and kettle, toaster, dining table for 10. Bedroom - with double bed, dresser and baby cot. Bathroom
- with shower cabin, WC and washing machine. Internal wooden staircase leading upstairs. First floor: Bedroom 1 - with 3 iron beds, en-suite bathroom with bathtub, WC. Bedroom 2 & 3 - with 2 beds each. Bathroom - with bathtub and WC. All bedrooms have balconies with table and chairs with sea view or mountain view. Courtyard: Garden dining table under vine trellis, barbecue, round swimming pool (8m wide), sunbeds. Parking for 4 cars inside gates.

We absolutely enjoyd our stay at Villa Avra! The house was wonderful,
actually a lot better than what we had expected. We would highly
recommend it to everyone we know!
The information we got before we arrived was adequate and instructive.
We will hopefully return to Crete some day, and then Villa Avra will be
at the top of our list of choices!

Beautiful and looking like it was in the French or Italian countryside. Athina was very nice and helpful. Georgioupoli is more built up than we noticed two years ago, but still a great place to be based. The house is in such a nice rural place, you don't notice the large hotels nearby.
