OUR REVIEW

A large and a smaller house each with their own pool in this charming village west of Chania, near to Kolymbari and Kissamos.
Well built and well-designed with attractive garden and pool areas with flowering shrubs and plants adding colour splashes to the patterned tiled outside walkways, steps and terraces. The two houses are furnished with modern/traditional Cretan furniture, comfortable and practical for a family, yet still offering that traveler's romance feel - something special and an atmosphere that reflects the locale.

Stone and comfort. Wood beams, full kitchens, rural and village views.

The small house is cozy and yet quite spacious for two people.
The larger (upper) house sleeps 8 people plus, it has five bedrooms.
Both have fully equipped kitchens, modern bathrooms, balcony/terrace areas which allow pleasant outdoor dining poolside. Each one has its own pool.

The village is very much a lived-in one, people who will be your neighbours live and work locally or in Chania itself.

Just 5 minutes from Kolymbari, the beach and several restaurants, a great stone cafe on the harbour-beach edge, the Gonias monastery, easy reach of Kissamos for a boat trip to Gramvousa island and the legendary Bali beach, a wander out to Falasarna and its alternate rock and sand west-facing shoreline, a meal at Don Rosario's (haute cuisine in an unlikely almost-beachfront setting) in the quiet Ravdouha village on the peninsula.

THE HOUSES

Big house:
200 m², two storey (on 2 floors), 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, for 8 to 10 persons.
Ground floor: Living room with fireplace, fully equipped kitchen (4-ring cooker with oven, microwave oven, full-size fridge, kettle, blender, dishwasher, washing machine). 1 small double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower. 1 double bedroom with 4-poster bed with door to bathroom with twin sinks & jacuzzi bathtub (this bathroom is also accessed from the corridor via 2nd door).

First floor: 1 double bedroom with 4-poster bed with door to bathroom with twin sinks & jacuzzi bathtub (this bathroom is also accessed from the corridor via 2nd door). 1 twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower. 1 more twin bedroom.
Outdoors: Large (60 m²) swimming pool, with children's pool partition. Barbecue, covered terrace with sunbeds and another covered terrace with table and chairs.

Small house:

60 m², two storey (on two floors), 1 gallery bedroom, 1 bathroom, for 2 adults or up to 2 adults & 2 children.

Downstairs: Fully equipped kitchen (4-ring cooker with oven, microwave oven, full-size fridge, kettle, blender, dishwasher, washing machine). Living room with fireplace. The living room sofa and the fold-out armchair can be used to accommodate 2 children.

Upstairs (open gallery/loft): 1 double bedroom with 4-poster bed, bathroom with half-size bathtub and hydro-massage shower jets.

Outdoors: 30 m² swimming pool. Barbecue, covered terrace with table and chairs.

Within Melisourgio village: simple cafe/taverna - 150 m, mini-market - 500 m.
Kolymbari - 2 km (tavernas, shops, shingle beach)
Nopigia sandy beach - 2.5 km. Ravdouha - 2.5 km (pebble beach, good fish tavernas)
Falasarna long sandy beach - 8 km.
Kissamos town - 6 km (more shops & super-markets).
Chania town - 27 km (30 minute drive). Chania airport - 38 km (40-50 minute drive).
Rethymno - 86 km. Heraklion town & airport - 157 km.
We recommend that you rent a car, other means of transport are limited and/or infrequent.

Rates are per house, per night and include air conditioning/heating and all taxes.

MINIMUM STAY: 3-7 nights, depending on season.
NOTE: From July to September, ONLY Tuesday to Tuesday rentals are possible for these houses.
